Oh yeah, the new version of iTunes is hilariously broken. You can get a lot of the old features back, but a lot of the useful features are gone. I'm particularly annoyed by the exclusion of "Find Duplicate Files" and "Sort by Album/Artist".

Can't say I really care for the new artist view either. And it's impossible to manually delete the new version through Finder because an error prompt comes up.

I am not happy with iTunes 11. At all. It is 100% about selling more content, 0% about user experience.

Well, I guess I'll have to hope it smooths out. If I want to drag and drop a video file onto my iPod it usually took me about 3 minutes start to finish. Last night it took more than 10.

I actually like some of the changes in iTunes 11, but some of them are just baffling to me. The removed feature I really miss is "iTunes DJ" -- I used that ALL the time.

Now you have to go through several steps to get something like the DJ feature, using the new "Up Next" feature. They took a nice, simple, highly useful feature and complicated it for no real reason that I can see.

And they changed the font from the nice, readable Lucida Grande to Helvetica Neue. Yecch. Here's a tip that lets you change it back to Lucida - I did this and it works:

I've put off upgrading and from what is above it looks like I'll stay away from it for a while.

After seeing that the sidebar can be easily restored I'm a bit more okay with it. But adding and removing video on my iPod has become impossibly impossible. I may need to increase my RAM or maybe even pick up an Apple TV. First World problems, as they say, sure. I'll get used to it. It is a pain in the ass at the moment, though, that's for sure.
